𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐓𝐒𝐀𝐌 & 𝐉𝐄𝐓𝐒𝐀𝐌 – 𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙚 „𝙍𝙖𝙩𝙨 𝙄𝙣 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙏𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚“

𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐓𝐒𝐀𝐌 & 𝐉𝐄𝐓𝐒𝐀𝐌 hauen ihre neue Single „Rats In The Temple“ raus. Ihre letzten Alben „Blood In The Water“ und „I Am The Weapon“ haben mir sehr gut gefallen. Allerdings muss man auch sagen, dass das neue Material meiner Meinung nur noch marginal etwas mit dem „ursprünglichen“ Thrash zu tun hat. Angriffslustig sind 𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐓𝐒𝐀𝐌 & 𝐉𝐄𝐓𝐒𝐀𝐌 zwar immer noch, aber der ausgefeilte moderne Sound liebäugelt viel mit Power-bzw. Heavy Metal.

𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐓𝐒𝐀𝐌 & 𝐉𝐄𝐓𝐒𝐀𝐌 haben sich übrigens von ihrem langjährigen Label AFM Records getrennt und deshalb ist das kommende Album 𝙍𝙖𝙩𝙨 𝙄𝙣 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙏𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚 das Debüt bei ihrem neuen Label Napalm Records. Es wird am 28. August erscheinen.

Auch der Song „Rats In The Temple“ setzt die Ent

wicklung konsequent fort. Der Song zeigt direkt zu Beginn die Zähne. Besonders hat es mir das Drumming in diesem Song angetan, was hier mit einer beeindruckenden Dynamik für viel Feuer sorgt. Es donnert wie ein Sturmgewitter. Gleich zum Einstieg gibt es ebenfalls ein geiles Gitarrensolo obendrauf und dann startet der Song voll durch. Gittarist ist voll on fire und brilliert hier mit tollen Leads und Solos. Ein technisch höchst anspruchsvoller Banger, der aber mächtig durchzündet. Den würde ich gerne live sehen, am besten noch mit einem eingebauten Drum Solo. Würde ich voll abfeiern.

Es ist keine Überraschung, dass Bands ihr neuestes Album immer abfeiern. Alles andere wäre auch komisch. Wer bringt schon ein Album raus, von dem man nicht überzeugt ist.

Frontmann Eric A.K. Knutson ist jedenfalls Feuer und Flamme:

Diese Platte ist ein BIEST – wahrlich unser bisher bestes Werk!! Tut euch selbst einen Gefallen: Dimmt das Licht, schnappt euch einen Drink, setzt die Kopfhörer auf und dreht die Lautstärke voll auf. Ihr werdet es nicht bereuen!!!

In der Pressemitteilung gibt man einen Ausblick das musikalische Menü, was den Hörer erwarten wird. Das hört sich sehr vielschichtg an und man darf gespannt sein, wie es letztlich wirklich klingen wird. Für mich klingt es, als ob 𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐓𝐒𝐀𝐌 & 𝐉𝐄𝐓𝐒𝐀𝐌 noch mutigere Ausflüge wagen. Ich zitiere also den Pressetext:

𝙍𝙖𝙩𝙨 𝙄𝙣 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙏𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚 legt einen starken Auftakt hin, mit den stadiontauglichen Hooks und den schwindelerregend präzisen Darbietungen von „Harvesting The Hate“ und „Damnation“ , bevor das Album mit „Absolution“ in thrash-typische Virtuosität eintaucht. „The Edge of Nowhere“ baut eine unwiderstehliche Spannung auf, bevor es die Hörer wie aus einem Kanonenrohr geschossen – mit Vollgas – in „Last Rites“ katapultiert: einen weiteren Glanzpunkt des Albums. Das legendäre Rhythmusgespann aus Schlagzeuger Ken Mary und Bassist Bill Bodily rückt auf der Anti-Kriegs-Hymne „A Taste For War“ ins Rampenlicht; ihre methodische Synkopierung evoziert Bilder von Panzern und marschierenden Stiefeln. „Her Blood Your Pain“ wartet mit kunstvollen, fast mittelalterlich anmutenden Gitarrenharmonien auf, bevor „Anthem For The Broken“ mit kompromissloser Wucht losbricht und „Going Down That Way“ die Hörer mit schweren Riffs – und noch schwereren Wahrheiten – trifft. Rats In The Temple fesselt von Anfang bis Ende und gewährt dem Hörer Einblick in zahlreiche „Metal-Kammern“ der Band, wobei es eine raffinierte und vielschichtige Mischung unterschiedlichster Einflüsse serviert.

𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐓𝐒𝐀𝐌 & 𝐉𝐄𝐓𝐒𝐀𝐌 are dropping their new single “Rats In The Temple“. I really enjoyed their last albums Blood In The Water and I Am The Weapon. However, it has to be said that the new material, in my opinion, has only marginal ties to their “original” thrash roots. 𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐓𝐒𝐀𝐌 & 𝐉𝐄𝐓𝐒𝐀𝐌 are still as aggressive as ever, but the refined modern production leans heavily toward power and traditional heavy metal.

𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐓𝐒𝐀𝐌 & 𝐉𝐄𝐓𝐒𝐀𝐌 have also parted ways with their longtime label AFM Records, which makes their upcoming album their debut 𝙍𝙖𝙩𝙨 𝙄𝙣 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙏𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚 release under their new label, Napalm Records. The album is set to arrive on August 28.

“Rats In The Temple” continues this evolution with absolute consistency. The track bares its teeth right from the start. What really grabbed me here is the drumming. It delivers an impressive dynamic range that injects a ton of power into the song. It thunders like a storm rolling in. Right out of the gate you also get a killer guitar solo on top, and from there the track goes full throttle. The guitarist is completely on fire, shining with fantastic leads and solos throughout. A technically demanding banger that still hits with full force. I’d love to see this one live, ideally with a built‑in drum solo. I’d go wild for that.

It’s no surprise that bands always hype up their latest album. Anything else would be strange. After all, who would release a record they’re not convinced of?

Frontman Eric A.K. Knutson is absolutely fired up:

The press promo also offers a glimpse of the musical menu awaiting listeners. It sounds remarkably multifaceted, and it’ll be exciting to hear what it ultimately turns into. To me, it suggests that 𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐓𝐒𝐀𝐌 & 𝐉𝐄𝐓𝐒𝐀𝐌 are ready to venture into even bolder territory. So let me quote the press statement:

Rats In The Temple opens strong with the stadium-ready hooks and dizzyingly precise performances of “Harvesting The Hate” and “Damnation„, before delving into thrash virtuosity on “Absolution”.
