The first concrete announcements for 2027 are already arriving. In January, fans of classic heavy metal have something to look forward to: the Cologne-based band 𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐖𝐎𝐋𝐅 will release their album 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘿𝙖𝙧𝙠 𝙏𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙚 via Metalapolis Records. This marks the next step in the evolution of the group, which emerged from the formation WOLFEN.
The first salvo, however, is already here in the form of the lead single, „Ceasefire“! It offers a preview of what to expect from the album: punchy heavy metal that gets straight to the point and focuses on the essentials. 𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐖𝐎𝐋𝐅 steer clear of any gimmicks or atmospheric filler. While the title „Ceasefire“ might imply a lull in the fighting, the song itself is anything but quiet—it’s an all-out assault that ignites instantly. 𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐖𝐎𝐋𝐅 unleash their infectious energy and go full throttle.
In terms of content, the album 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘿𝙖𝙧𝙠 𝙏𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙚 casts a dark gaze upon both history and the world in which we live today. The songs explore themes of despotic rulers, the abuse of power, oppression, and the devastating consequences of the actions of those who prioritize their own hunger for control over human life.
For the production of 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘿𝙖𝙧𝙠 𝙏𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙚, 𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐖𝐎𝐋𝐅 once again collaborated with GRAVE DIGGER vocalist Chris Boltendahl, who supported the band throughout the production process. The album was mixed and mastered by renowned German metal producer Martin Buchwalter, while the striking cover artwork was created by the highly talented fantasy artist Uwe Jarling. Furthermore, 𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐖𝐎𝐋𝐅 won’t keep their audience waiting too long to experience the new material live; shortly after the release of „The Dark Throne,“ the band will join GRAVE DIGGER on their „Legends Never Die Tour 2027,“ alongside special guests MOTORJESUS.
