𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐒𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 haben mich schon seit langer Zeit in ihren Bann gezogen. Das liegt unter anderem an der grandiosen Sängerin Ida Haukland. Sie hat eine geile Stimme und holt mich mit ihrem Gesang total ab, egal ob sie mit druckvoller Härte agiert, epische Melodien trällert oder emotional sanft berührt. Aber eine tolle Stimme macht es nicht allein. Der Sound von 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐒𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 entspringt einer Mischung, die packenden Heavy Metal mit der melodischen Attitüde des Power Metal kombinieren und daraus ihre eigene musikalische Welt geschaffen haben, in der sie sich frei bewegen. Dabei klingen sie mitreißend, aber offenbaren darüber hinaus progressive Züge mit teils komplexeren Songstrukturen.

Leider war nach 2014 erst einmal Schluss, nachdem man drei Alben–„Onwards“ (2006), „The Road Less Travelled“ (2010) und „The Heart Of The Matter“ (2014)– veröffentlicht hatte. Verschiedene Gründe zwangen die Band zu einer langen Pause. Doch nun sind sie zurück und machen da weiter, wo sie aufgehört haben, nämlich großartige Musik zu machen.

𝙊𝙘𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙨 𝘼𝙗𝙤𝙫𝙚, 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙨 𝘽𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙬 ist sicherlich nach einer so langen Pause wieder etwas ganz besonderes für die 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐒𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄. Ein Album, an dem man in dieser langen Zeit bestimmt ausgiebig gearbeitet hat, um die Fans mit einem erstklassigen musikalischen Ergebnis zu erfreuen.

Bereits in den ersten Minuten macht sich ein Wohlgefühl in mir breit. Was meine Lauscherchen da geboten bekommen, ist der Wahnsinn. „Of Tyrants“ knallt nach dem Intro direkt mit voller Power los. Das klingt höchst beeindruckend und mitreißend, und zwar in jeder Hinsicht. Technisch ist das brillant vorgetragen und es ist alles vorhanden, wofür man 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐒𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 liebt. Hochdynamisch und kraftvoll mit viel epischer Größe. Der spätere rein instrumentale Part wird sanft eingeleitet, steigert sich aber in seiner Intensität. Hier wird ein traumhaftes Gitarrensolo gespielt. Besser kann man es nicht machen!

Um die Bandbreite von 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐒𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 mal zu verdeutlichen, sei z.B. der Song „Shorelines“ erwähnt, der eine andere Wirkung entfaltet. Dieser Song ist von melodischen rockigen Riffs geprägt und der Gesang passt sich dem Ganzen mit einer schönen Leichtigkeit an. Es ist eher ein schlichter Song für 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐒𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄-Verhältnisse, aber das ist völlig okay. Es ist ein Song, der dich einfach mitnimmt und mit positiven Vibes aufmuntert.

Meine persönlichen Lieblinge sind aber die Songs, die mit epischer Power um sich schmeißen. Und davon gibt es eine große Dosis auf dem Album. So gelingt es 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐒𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 auch beim Titeltrack eine imposante musikalische Kulisse aufzubauen, die die Hörer in den Bann zieht. Und ich bin der Meinung, dass 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐒𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 in atmosphärischer Hinsicht noch weiter zugelegt haben. Die technischen Raffinessen in Zusammenspiel mit dem Songwriting erzeugen faszinierende Geschichten.

Wie schon erwähnt, gefällt mir Sängerin Ida Haukland großartig. Ich lausche gerne ihrer Stimme und dann kann mich auch eine ganz ruhige Ballade begeistern, bei der allein ihre Stimme den Song ausmacht. „Encore“ ist eine liebenswerte Streicheleinheit auf dem Album, die wunderschön klingt. Keine pompöse Untermalung, nur ihre zarte Stimme vor einem leisen zurückhaltenden instrumentalen Hintergrund. Zauberhaft! „Encore“ bleibt in seiner Art aber das einzige Erlebnis auf dem Album.

Fazit

𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐒𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 legen mit 𝙊𝙘𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙨 𝘼𝙗𝙤𝙫𝙚, 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙨 𝘽𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙬 ein fulminantes Comeback hin. Hochwertige Musik haben sie schon immer produziert, doch mit den neuen Songs legen sie noch einmal zu und bewegen sich auf einem exzellenten Niveau. Die grandiose Sängerin Ida Haukland klingt für sich schon beeindruckend, aber die instrumentale Bühne steht dem in nichts nach und zusammen haben sie mit 𝙊𝙘𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙨 𝘼𝙗𝙤𝙫𝙚, 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙨 𝘽𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙬 ein imposantes Erlebnis erschaffen.

𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐒𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 have captivated me for a long time. This is due in no small part to their magnificent vocalist, Ida Haukland. She has an amazing voice and her singing completely captivates me, whether she’s delivering powerful, intense vocals, crooning epic melodies, or gently touching me emotionally. Yet, a great voice isn’t the whole story. 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐒𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 ’s sound stems from a blend that combines gripping heavy metal with the melodic sensibilities of power metal, creating a unique musical world in which they move freely. Their sound is electrifying, yet it also reveals progressive elements and, at times, more complex song structures.

Unfortunately, things came to a halt after 2014, following the release of three albums—Onwards (2006), The Road Less Travelled (2010), and The Heart Of The Matter (2014). Various reasons forced the band to take a long hiatus. But now they are back, picking up right where they left off: making great music.

𝙊𝙘𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙨 𝘼𝙗𝙤𝙫𝙚, 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙨 𝘽𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙬 is certainly something very special for 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐒𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 after such a long hiatus. An album that was undoubtedly crafted with great care over this extended period to delight fans with a top-notch musical result.

A sense of well-being washes over me within the very first few minutes. What my ears are treated to here is incredible. After the intro, „Of Tyrants“ kicks in with full force. It sounds hugely impressive and captivating in every respect. The technical execution is brilliant, and the track delivers everything one loves about 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐒𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄: it is highly dynamic and powerful, possessing a grand, epic scale. The later, purely instrumental section begins gently but steadily builds in intensity, featuring a sublime guitar solo. It couldn’t be done better!

To illustrate the bandwidth of 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐒𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄, for example: the song „Shorelines“ is mentioned, which has a different effect. This song is characterized by melodic rock riffs and the vocals fit into the whole thing with a nice lightness. It’s more of a simple song by 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐒𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 standards, but that’s totally okay. It’s a song that just takes you away and cheers you up with positive vibes.

However, my personal favorites are the songs that unleash epic power, and there is a generous dose of that on the album. With the title track, for instance, 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐒𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 succeeds in creating an impressive musical backdrop that captivates the listener. I also believe that 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐒𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 has further elevated the atmospheric quality of their music; the technical intricacies, combined with the songwriting, weave fascinating stories.

As previously mentioned, I really love singer Ida Haukland. I enjoy listening to her voice, and even a very quiet ballad, where her vocals alone define the song, can captivate me. „Encore“ is a lovely, soothing moment on the album that sounds beautiful. There is no grandiose accompaniment, just her delicate voice set against a soft, understated instrumental backdrop. Magical! However, „Encore“ remains a unique experience of its kind on the album.

Conclusion

𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐒𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄make a spectacular comeback with 𝙊𝙘𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙨 𝘼𝙗𝙤𝙫𝙚, 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙨 𝘽𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙬. They have always produced high-quality music, but with these new songs, they have raised the bar even higher, reaching an excellent level of artistry. The magnificent vocalist Ida Haukland sounds impressive in her own right, yet the instrumental performance is every bit her equal; together, they have created an awe-inspiring experience with 𝙊𝙘𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙨 𝘼𝙗𝙤𝙫𝙚, 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙨 𝘽𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙬.
