English Version

𝐌𝐘𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐂 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐂𝐘 have long been a reliable force in the metal scene, consistently delivering the goods on stage and keeping audiences fired up with their songs. They belong to those bands that know exactly what they do best and have rarely strayed from that path over the years. The result is a remarkably consistent high level of quality. Fans know exactly what they are getting, and that’s precisely what makes the band so dependable. Those looking for surprises, however, may find themselves wanting more. Personally, I would like to see a bit more courage in the songwriting to give their sound a fresh spark and an extra sense of excitement.

Personnel changes are nothing new for 𝐌𝐘𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐂 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐂𝐘. As the band enters the next chapter of its career, it does so with a reinforced line-up featuring Tommy Gun on bass, former Monument guitarist Dan Baune, and FireForce drummer Christophe de Combe.

Let’s take a listen to the new tracks. First up is “Robots”, a dark and unsettling song, yet one that is equally infused with melancholic undertones. Particularly noteworthy is the restrained section following the powerful opening, where a sparse arrangement and gentle vocals create a haunting, almost claustrophobic atmosphere. It is a subtle but effective touch that adds another layer to the composition. During the chorus, the clipped repetition of the word “Robots” gives the song a mechanical, almost threatening character, while the march-like rhythm reinforces the sense of an unstoppable force gradually moving forward.

Yet “Robots” is far more than just its dark and oppressive atmosphere. Around the two-minute mark, a crushing instrumental section unleashes the track’s full force and intensity. What follows is a magnificent guitar solo whose melodic character injects moments of light into the song, creating a compelling contrast to the ever-present sense of menace that dominates the composition.

Since today, the new single “March Or Die” is available for listening. At first glance, the track presents itself as a classic 𝐌𝐘𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐂 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐂𝐘 anthem, bringing together all the trademarks fans have cherished for years. Crushing riffs, thunderous drumming, and catchy melodies blend seamlessly together, while the anthemic chorus sticks in the memory from the very first listen and invites enthusiastic sing-alongs. The guitar work is equally impressive, with strong, well-placed solos adding further weight and character to the song.

Particularly encouraging is the band’s willingness to embrace greater diversity and nuance in its songwriting. Rather than stretching a single idea across an entire track, 𝐌𝐘𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐂 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐂𝐘 once again incorporate sections that break away from the core formula. Melancholic moments collide with crushing riff assaults, while atmospheric passages meet anthemic choruses. This approach adds an extra layer of depth to the songs and keeps them from becoming trapped within their own established formula.

Here, the song takes a dramatic turn as a soaring guitar solo suddenly cuts through the darkness. The shift continues as delicate piano melodies emerge and the vocals reveal a more emotional and vulnerable side. For a brief moment, the overwhelming presence of the dystopian threat seems to fade into the background. Gradually, however, the tension begins to build once again, leading the track back to its dark core before it ultimately fades out on a quiet and deeply emotional note.
