𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐄 melden sich mit ihrem zweiten Studioalbum 𝙈𝙮 𝙆𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙙𝙤𝙢 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙚 zurück. Die deutsche Symphonic Power Metal Band aus Villingen-Schwenningen geht die Reise mit ihrem Label Metalapolis Records, die wirklich tolle Bands in ihrem Hause haben.

Das Debüt 𝙐𝙣𝙩𝙤𝙡𝙙 erschien 2022 und lieferte bereits hochklassigen Power Metal, der Fans dieses Genre sicherlich schon begeistert hatte. Nachdem
Sänger Frank Breuninger allerdings beschlossen hatte, sich wieder voll und ganz seiner Hauptband DARK SKY zu widmen, haben 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐄 mit Nicolaj Ruhnow einen neuen Sänger gewinnen können.

Es dürfte also interessant werden, wie sich der Sound entwickelt hat, die sich afu 10 Tracks mit einer Spielzeit von 45 Minuten unterhalten werden.

Schon in den ersten Minuten wird klar, dass 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐄 ihrem charakteristischen Sound treu bleiben. Fans des Debüts finden sich sofort wieder in diesem hochmelodischen Fundament zurecht, das gleichermaßen vertraut wie weiterentwickelt wirkt. Der Gesang spielt dabei eine zentrale Rolle: Mit seinem gefühlvollen, warmen Timbre fügt sich Frontmann Nicolaj Ruhnow nahtlos in die epischen Hooks ein, ohne je an Präsenz zu verlieren. Wenn es die Dramaturgie verlangt, kann er jedoch auch einen härteren, leicht dreckigen Unterton aufziehen, genau jene Kante, die dem Power Metal die nötige Erdung verleiht. Eine Stimme, die nicht nur technisch überzeugt, sondern stilistisch wie geschaffen ist für dieses Genre.

Wer bei 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐄 überbordenden Symphonic‑Bombast erwartet, wird bewusst eines Besseren belehrt. Zwar gehören orchestrale Elemente weiterhin zum Klangspektrum der Band, doch sie dienen primär als atmosphärische Erweiterung bzw. Begleitung, nicht als ständig dominierendes Stilmittel. Statt pompöser Überfrachtung setzt das Album auf eine klare Priorisierung: Die klassische Instrumentierung trägt das musikalische Fundament, während der Gesang die dramaturgische Hauptrolle übernimmt. Genau diese Balance macht den Sound so wirkungsvoll, symphonisch akzentuiert, aber niemals überladen.

Im Song „Conquistadores“ setzen 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐄 auf ein besonders reizvolles Stilmittel: zwei kontrastierende Gesangslinien, die sich gegenseitig schärfen und den Song dramaturgisch aufladen. Die melodisch‑theatralische Hauptstimme trägt die hymnische Seite des Tracks, während eine dunklere, unheilvoll gefärbte Gegenstimme wie ein Schatten durch die Passage zieht. Dieses Zusammenspiel erzeugt eine finstere Schimmerung im Sound, die dem Stück zusätzliche Tiefe verleiht und den erzählerischen Charakter des Albums wirkungsvoll unterstreicht.

Nach und nach wird werden die cineastischen Ausmaße des Albums deutlicher und man spürt, dass 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐄 eine opulente Geschichte aufbauen, so dass der theatralisch angehauchte Power Metal von 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐄 durchaus Parallelen zu KAMELOT aufweist, insbesondere in den melodisch ausgearbeiteten Gesangslinien und der cineastischen Atmosphäre. Gleichzeitig bleibt der Sound weniger orchestrallastig, stärker rifforientiert und gesanglich erdiger, was der Band eine eigene direktere Note verleiht.

Das gesangliche Zwischenspiel „Regrets“ sticht hervor und hier gehört die Bühne ganz und gar dem Sänger Nicolaj Ruhnow Ein wahrlich vielseitiger Sänger, der alles bedienen kann, was anspruchsvoller Power Metal verlangt. Unheimlich stark!

Das wird besonders im Kontrast mit dem anschließenden Song „The Enemy Is You“ besonders krass herausgestellt, denn nach der zarten gesanglichen Streicheleinheit geht es bei „The Enemy Is You“ sehr fordernd zur Sache. Der Song geht auf dem Album wohl am aggressivsten zur Sache. Dies sagt meinem Geschmack natürlich besonders zu und die dunklere Facette passt auch sehr gut zu 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐄 und ich persönlich könnte mir noch etwas mehr davon im Sound gut vorstellen.

Fazit

𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐄 liefern mit 𝙈𝙮 𝙆𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙙𝙤𝙢 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙚 ein Album ab, das ihre Stärken klar bündelt: melodischer, theatralisch gefärbter Power Metal, der ohne überladenen Bombast auskommt und stattdessen auf starke Hooks, ausdrucksstarken Gesang und eine geerdete Instrumentierung setzt. Die Band bleibt ihrem Stil treu, erweitert ihn aber um feine dramaturgische Akzente, die das Album lebendig halten. Ein überzeugendes Werk für Fans des Debüts und alle, die Power Metal mit atmosphärischer Tiefe schätzen.

𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐄 return with their second studio album My 𝙈𝙮 𝙆𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙙𝙤𝙢 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙚. The symphonic power metal band from Germany continues their journey with Metalapolis Records, a label that has proven time and again that it knows how to gather truly remarkable bands under its roof.

The debut 𝙐𝙣𝙩𝙤𝙡𝙙 was released in 2022 and already delivered high‑quality power metal that surely thrilled fans of the genre. After vocalist Frank Breuninger decided to fully return his focus to his main band DARK SKY, 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐄 were able to bring in a new frontman: Nicolaj Ruhnow.

So it will be interesting to see how the band’s sound has evolved across the ten tracks, which offer a total playing time of 45 minutes.

From the very first minutes, it becomes clear that 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐄 remain true to their characteristic sound. Fans of the debut will immediately feel at home within this highly melodic foundation, which feels both familiar and subtly evolved. The vocals play a central role in this: with his emotive, warm timbre, frontman Nicolaj Ruhnow blends seamlessly into the epic hooks without ever losing presence. When the song’s dramaturgy calls for it, he can also summon a harsher, slightly grittier edge, exactly the kind of bite that gives power metal its grounding. A voice that convinces not only on a technical level, but feels stylistically tailor‑made for the genre.

On the track “Conquistadores“, 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐄 employ a particularly striking stylistic device: two contrasting vocal lines that sharpen each other and heighten the song’s dramatic tension. The melodically theatrical lead voice carries the hymn‑like side of the track, while a darker, more ominous counterpart moves through the passage like a shadow. This interplay creates a sinister shimmer within the sound, adding depth to the piece and effectively reinforcing the album’s narrative character.

As the album progresses, its cinematic scope becomes increasingly apparent, revealing how 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐄 construct an opulent narrative framework. This is where their theatrically infused power metal shows clear parallels to KAMELOT, particularly in the finely crafted vocal lines and the overall cinematic atmosphere. At the same time, the band’s sound remains less orchestral, more riff‑driven, and vocally more grounded, giving 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐄 a distinctly direct and individual character.

The vocal interlude “Regrets” stands out, giving the stage entirely to singer Nicolaj Ruhnow. One minute is all it takes for him to showcase his vocal abilities in truly impressive fashion. A remarkably versatile vocalist who can deliver everything demanding power metal requires. Absolutely outstanding.

This contrast becomes especially striking when followed by the next track, “The Enemy Is You”. After the gentle vocal caress of “Regrets,” the band shifts gears dramatically. “The Enemy Is You” hits with far more intensity and stands as the album’s most aggressive moment. Naturally, this speaks very much to my personal taste, and the darker edge suits 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐄 exceptionally well. I could easily imagine even more of this facet finding its way into their sound.

Conclusion

With 𝙈𝙮 𝙆𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙙𝙤𝙢 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙚, 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐄 deliver an album that brings their strengths sharply into focus: melodic, theatrically tinged power metal that avoids excessive bombast and instead relies on strong hooks, expressive vocals, and grounded instrumentation. The band stays true to their signature style while adding subtle dramaturgical nuances that keep the album vibrant and engaging.
