𝐃𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐘 aus dem Frankenland existieren seit 2010 und haben bisher drei Alben veröffentlicht: 𝙇𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝘿𝙖𝙮: 𝙏𝙤𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙤𝙬 (2012), 𝙍𝙚/𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 (2015) und 𝘼𝙜𝙚 𝙊𝙛 𝙄𝙜𝙣𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 (2021). Von denen gefiel mir 𝙍𝙚/𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 bisher am besten. Es hatte einen knackigen Härtegrad und der Soundmix gefiel mir gut. Auf dem letzten Album waren auch echt geile Kracher dabei, aber auf dem neuen Album 𝙄𝙑 wird alles noch einmal übertroffen.

Bisher ist man dem Bandnamen gemäß durch recht vielseitigen Metal aufgefallen. Da waren sehr melodische Sachen dabei, aber auch knallharte Ansagen. So richtig in eine Form pressen lassen sich 𝐃𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐘 eben nicht, auch wenn man viele Metalcore-Elemente in der Musik findet.

Nach dem Intro schlägt mit „Piece Of Mind“ ein mächtiger Brocken ein und hinterlässt einen riesigen Krater. In härtester Metalcore Manier prasselt es brachiale Schläge, um dann in den Strophen mit einem geilen melodischen Refrain zu begeistern. Wahrlich kein neues Konzept, aber so lange es so astrein umgesetzt wird, ist mir das völlig egal. Zwischendurch wird ein sphärischer Synthie-Part eingebaut, wo nicht viel passiert und dies beschert dem Track meiner Meinung nach eine etwas zu langatmige Pause, bevor es dann noch einmal heftig abgeht. Ist aber nur ne winzige Kritik an dem fantastischen Opener.

So heftig das Album mit „Piece Of Mind“ beginnt, so endet es auch mit dem maximal brutalen „Phantom Silhouette“, der das Album mit einem heftigen Arschtritt abschließt. Und was geht dazwischen so ab?

„Blame Me“ lässt etwas mehr Ruhe einkehren. Der Song versprüht zunächst eine ruhigere melancholische Atmosphäre, wird dann aber expressiver. Gesanglich auch ein hochinteressanter Akt, der viele Facetten in sich vereint, aber es ist schön miteinander verwoben. Das empfinde ich als Fortschritt zu manchen Songs auf dem letzten Album, wo mich der Mix nicht immer komplett überzeugte.

„Animal“ verzichtet fast komplett auf extreme Vocals und ist mehr auf Melodie und Gefühl ausgerichtet, soll aber nicht heißen, dass es hier soft abgeht. Das Ding hat schon noch ordentlich Bumms. So ähnlich ist es beim Song „Gears Of Society“, der allerdings mit brettharten Parts zwischendurch kräftige Schläge verteilt, vor allem ab Minute 02:50.

Der Sound von 𝐃𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐘 ist auf jeden Fall in größerem Maße härter geworden. Ansätze gab es schon auf dem letzten Album, aber nun hat man es auf ein neues Level gehoben, indem man die verschiedenen Facetten schlüssiger miteinander verschmolzen hat. Insgesamt klingt es brutaler als je zuvor ohne aber ihre melodischen Gene zu unterdrücken. So sind auch Songs, um nur einige zu nennen, wie „Tyrant“, „Short Fuse“ oder „Free“ echte Kracher, die für bestes Entertainment sorgen.

„Trees Of Yesterday“ belegt, dass die Synthies nach wie vor ebenfalls ein Bestandteil von DIEVERSITY sind, was den Sound meiner Meinung nach aber bereichert und mehr atmosphärische Dichte hervorruft anstatt ihn zuzukleistern.

Fazit

𝐃𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐘 haben es mit 𝙄𝙑 geschafft ihren Sound auf ein neues Level zu heben. Sie haben die Verschmelzung ihrer verschiedenen musikalischen Stärken auf großartige Art und Weise kombiniert. Es ist wohl das härteste und eindringlichste Album ihrer Diskografie und zugleich das Ausgereifteste, welches mit einer packenden Atmosphäre begeistert. Die Hitdichte ist jedenfalls hoch und Durchhänger wird man keinen finden.

𝐃𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐘 from Franconia have been around since 2010 and have released three albums so far: 𝙇𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝘿𝙖𝙮: 𝙏𝙤𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙤𝙬 (2012), 𝙍𝙚/𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 (2015) and 𝘼𝙜𝙚 𝙊𝙛 𝙄𝙜𝙣𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 (2021). Of those, I liked 𝙍𝙚/𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 the best so far. It had a crisp hardness and I really liked the sound mix.The last album also had some really great bangers, but the new album 𝙄𝙑 surpasses everything that has come before.

So far, true to their name, the band has made a name for themselves with their rather diverse metal sound. There have been very melodic tracks, but also some hard-hitting, aggressive ones. 𝐃𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐘 simply can’t be pigeonholed, even though many metalcore elements can be found in their music.

After the intro, „Piece Of Mind“ hits like a meteor, leaving a massive crater. Brutal, hard-hitting metalcore riffs rain down, before the verses deliver a killer, melodic chorus. It’s certainly not a new concept, but as long as it’s executed so flawlessly, I couldn’t care less. There’s a brief, atmospheric synth section where not much happens, which, in my opinion, creates a slightly too drawn-out lull before the track explodes again. But that’s just a minor criticism of this fantastic opener.

As intensely as the album begins with „Piece Of Mind,“ it also ends with the maximally brutal „Phantom Silhouette,“ which concludes the album with a powerful kick in the pants. And what’s going on in between?

„Blame Me“ brings a bit more calm. The song initially exudes a quieter, melancholic atmosphere, but then becomes more expressive. Vocally, it’s also a highly interesting performance, combining many facets, yet they are beautifully interwoven. I see this as an improvement over some songs on the last album, where the mix didn’t always completely convince me.

„Animal“ almost completely forgoes extreme vocals and focuses more on melody and emotion, but that doesn’t mean it’s soft. This track still packs a serious punch. The song „Gears Of Society“ is similar, though it delivers some seriously heavy blows with its brutally heavy sections, especially from 2:50 onwards.

The sound of 𝐃𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐘 has definitely become much heavier. There were hints of this on the last album, but now they’ve taken it to a new level by more coherently blending the various facets. Overall, it sounds more brutal than ever before without suppressing their melodic genes. Songs like „Tyrant,“ „Short Fuse,“ and „Free,“ to name just a few, are real bangers that provide top-notch entertainment.

„Trees Of Yesterday’ demonstrates that synths are still very much a part of DIEVERSITY’s sound, and in my opinion they enrich it, adding atmospheric depth rather than smothering it.

Conclusion

With 𝙄𝙑, 𝐃𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐘 have managed to elevate their sound to a new level. They’ve fused their various musical strengths in a truly impressive way. It’s the heaviest and most compelling album in their discography, while also being their most mature, captivating listeners with its gripping atmosphere. The density of standout tracks is high, and you won’t find a weak song.
