𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 haben sich in der Szene einen Namen gemacht. Das liegt nicht nur daran, dass Gründer Tim Hansen der Sohn von Legende Kai Hansen, der den Metal mit seinen Bands stark mitgeprägt hat. Denn wer kennt nicht 𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐍? Auch 𝐆𝐀𝐌𝐌𝐀 𝐑𝐀𝐘 and 𝐈𝐑𝐎𝐍 𝐒𝐀𝐕𝐈𝐎𝐑 sind vielen Fans wohl ein Begriff.

Aber es ist nicht nur der Name, der gute Musik oder Erfolg garantiert. Da muss man selber auch schon was leisten und dies hat Tim getan. Bereits das selbstbetitelte Debüt war eine richtig gute Scheibe. Das dachte sich auch Label Reigning Phoenix Music und schnappte sich 𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍, welche dann 2022 das Label mit dem grandiosen Nachfolger 𝘽𝙤𝙧𝙣 𝙁𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙁𝙞𝙧𝙚 belohnte. Ein Killeralbum! Und nun steht das neue Album 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙆𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙨! in den Startlöchern. Bleibt die Frage, ob man an dem Erfolg von 𝘽𝙤𝙧𝙣 𝙁𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙁𝙞𝙧𝙚 anschließen kann.

Ich denke, dass sie den Erfolg sehr wohl weitertragen und sogar noch steigern können, aber für meinen persönlichen Geschmack hat mir der Sound auf „Born From Fire“ besser gefallen. 𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 haben zwar ihren Sound nicht grundlegend verändert, aber die Ausstrahlung ist doch eine etwas andere geworden, auch wenn die handwerkliche Qualität nach wie vor über jeden Zweifel erhaben ist. Hat man beispielsweise bisher meist auf symphonische Synthies gesetzt, so wird es jetzt reichhaltiger mit 80’er Vibes. Viele würden das wohl als „Schlager-Metal“ bezeichnen.

Die zeigt sich direkt beim Opener „Virtual Insanity“, der mit viel Happy-Metal-Feeling daherkommt, indem viel mit Synthies gespielt wird, die es bisher in der Form und in der Gewichtung nicht genutzt wurden. Glücklicherweise sind die Gitarren noch präsent genug und klingen wirklich gut. Der zweite Song „War Of Hearts“ erinnert mich mehr an den Sound von 𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐋𝐄 𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐓 als an das letzte Album. Dort war der zweite Song „Scorched“ ein richtiger Killer mit einem Part, der eine dunklere Seite zeigte, was für meinen Geschmack den Sound bereicherte und die Atmosphäre vielschichtiger werden lies.

Diese „dunklere“ Attitüde scheint zumindest nach dem Hören der ersten Songs einem Sound gewichen zu sein, der etwas massentauglicher klingt und meiner Meinung nach einem Trend gefällig wird, der gerade total angesagt ist. Dafür spricht die starke Resonanz auf die Single „Love Kills!“, der diese cheesigen Vibes aufgreift.

Wiesen solche Songs wie „Scorched“ noch einen progressiven Touch auf, legt man nun den Fokus komplett auf maximale Eingängigkeit mit Spaßfaktor. Die Songs werden toll gespielt, aber Überraschungen wird man nicht mehr finden. Der Songaufbau ist schlicht und geradlinig und auch stimmungsmäßig bleibt man auf dem gleichen Weg, auch wenn man hier und da ein kleines Gimmick einbaut.

Bei „Strangers To Love“ holt man dann auch ne Gastsängerin dazu und schmettert ne Power Ballade, die mit einem echt starken Gitarrensolo garniert wird. „Beyond Horizons“ bedient sich stellenweise lateinischer Sprache und ich muss sofort an die Band 𝐏𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐖𝐎𝐋𝐅 denken. Damit hat man es sogar in den ZDF Fernsehgarten geschafft, der ja als Metal-Tempel bekannt ist…hüstel, hüstel, lach.

Auch wenn in meinen Worten ein kritischer Unterton nicht ungewollt ist, so muss ich aber dennoch zugeben, dass objektiv gesehen 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙆𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙨! ein gutes Album geworden ist. Die Songs sind mitreißend und handwerklich top umgesetzt. Vor allem die Gitarren sind top und der Sänger ist wirklich gut. Songs wie „Dark Temptation“, „Steel And Thunder“, „I’m Evil“ zünden gut durch und machen echt Bock.

„The Veil Of Affection“ möchte ich noch als persönliches Highlight auf dem Album hervorheben, der für mich am besten das Power-Metal-Thema verkörpert, mit dem ich gut klar komme. Hier schaffen es 𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 dann doch noch, mich mit einem folkloristischen Part mitten im Song zu überraschen und auch sonst ist der Song etwas progressiver aufgebaut.

Fazit

𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 liefern mit 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙆𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙨! ein starkes Album ab, wenn man denn den Sound mag. Der Sound ist moderner geworden, was sich in der musikalischen Ausstrahlung schon bemerkbar macht. Es ist eine Entwicklung, die sicherlich viele Fans dazugewinnen wird, denn die Songs sind absolut massen- und stadiontauglich. Jedenfalls ist 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙆𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙨! astrein produziert und glänzt trotz vieler Synthies mit hervorragendem Gitarrenspiel und einem starken Sänger.

Für manche wird es zu mainstream sein, aber das muss jeder für sich selbst entscheiden. Doch man muss objektiv bleiben, auch wenn man mit dem Sound nichts oder nicht so viel anfangen kann. So lässt sich abschließend resümieren, dass Fans vom Sound a la 𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐋𝐄 𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐓 & Co dem Album vermutlich 10 Punkte geben würden. Meinen Geschmack trifft es insgesamt nicht so ganz, aber ich möchte das Album deswegen auch nicht dermaßen schlecht reden, weil es rein handwerklich und produktionstechnisch top gemacht ist.

𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 have made a name for themselves in the scene. This isn’t just because founder Tim Hansen is the son of legend Kai Hansen, who significantly shaped metal with his bands. Who doesn’t know 𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐍? And 𝐆𝐀𝐌𝐌𝐀 𝐑𝐀𝐘 and 𝐈𝐑𝐎𝐍 𝐒𝐀𝐕𝐈𝐎𝐑 are also well-known.

But it’s not just the name that guarantees good music or success. You have to deliver yourself, and Tim has done just that. His self-titled debut was already a really good album. Label Reigning Phoenix Music thought so too and snapped up 𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍, who then rewarded the label in 2022 with the fantastic follow-up 𝘽𝙤𝙧𝙣 𝙁𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙁𝙞𝙧𝙚. A killer album! And now the new album 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙆𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙨! is ready for release. The question remains whether one can build on the success of 𝘽𝙤𝙧𝙣 𝙁𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙁𝙞𝙧𝙚.

I think they can definitely continue their success and even increase it further, but personally, I preferred the sound of „Born From Fire.“ While 𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 haven’t fundamentally changed their sound, their overall feel is somewhat different, even though their technical skill remains remarkable. For example, where they previously relied heavily on symphonic synths, their sound is now richer with 80s vibes. Many would describe it as cheesy „Happy-Metal.“

This is immediately apparent in the opener „Virtual Insanity,“ which exudes a strong happy metal vibe. Synths are used extensively, in a way and with a weighting not seen before. Fortunately, the guitars are still prominent enough and sound really good. The second song, „War Of Hearts,“ reminds me more of BATTLE BEAST’s sound than their last album. On that album, the second track, „Scorched,“ was a real killer, featuring a darker section that enriched the sound and added depth to the atmosphere.

This attitude seems to have given way, at least after listening to the first few songs, to a sound that is somewhat more „mainstream“ and, in my opinion, caters to the current trend. The strong response to the single „Love Kills!“, which captures these vibes, supports this.

While songs like „Scorched“ on the last album still had a progressive feel, the focus is now entirely on maximum catchiness for simple fun. The songs are superbly performed, but there are no surprises to be found. The song structure is simple and straightforward, and the mood remains constant, even with some occasional little gimmicks included.

For „Strangers To Love,“ they bring in a female guest vocalist and turn out a power ballad, garnished with a truly impressive guitar solo. „Beyond Horizons“ uses Latin lyrics in places, and I immediately think of the band 𝐏𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐖𝐎𝐋𝐅.

Even though my words may contain a touch of criticism, I must admit that 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙆𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙨! is a fantastic album. The songs are captivating and technically superb. The guitars and the singer, in particular, are outstanding. Songs like „Dark Temptation,“ „Steel And Thunder,“ and „I’m Evil“ really ignite and are genuinely enjoyable. I’d like to highlight „The Veil Of Affection“ as a personal highlight of the album, as it best embodies the power metal attitude for me. Here, 𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 manage to surprise me with a folkloric section in the middle of the song, and the overall structure is also somewhat more progressive.

Conclusion

𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 deliver a strong album with 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙆𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙨!, if you like their sound. The sound has become more modern, which is noticeable in the overall musical feel. It’s a development that will surely win over many new fans, as the songs are absolutely suitable for the masses. In any case, 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙆𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙨! is impeccably produced and, despite the many synthesizers, shines with excellent guitar playing and a powerful vocalist.

For some, it will be too mainstream, but everyone has to decide that for themselves. However, one must remain objective, even if one doesn’t connect with the sound or doesn’t like it that much. In conclusion, fans of the sound of bands like 𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐋𝐄 𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐓 & Co. would probably give the album 10 points. Overall it’s not my cup of tea, but I don’t want to completely dismiss the album because, from a purely technical and production standpoint, it’s high quality.
