𝐕𝐈𝐎𝐋𝐄𝐓 sind zwar eine junge Band, die sich 2019 auf einer Party in der legendären Rockfabrik in Ludwigsburg gegründet haben, um die bunten, extravaganten 80er Jahre wieder aufleben lassen. Und das schaffen sie mit Bravour. Seitdem haben sie ihren Sound immer weiter geformt und perfektioniert. Vor einem Jahr haben sie das Album 𝙈𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙖 via Metalapolis Records veröffentlicht und ich hatte einen großen Spaß daran es zu hören und zu rezensieren. Das Album erreichte Platz 13 der offiziellen deutschen Rock-/Metal-Charts. Ein sehr beachtlicher Erfolg!

𝐕𝐈𝐎𝐋𝐄𝐓 haben ein unglaublich feines Gespür für die Vibes der 80’er. Es ist nicht nur das Talent tolle Hooks und Harmonien zu komponieren, denn auch optisch intensiviert der authentische Look das 80’er Feeling und so fühlt man sich wie in einer musikalischen Zeitmaschine.

Fleißig und ehrgeizig wie sie sind, haben sie für Ende Februar die EP 𝙎𝙞𝙡𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙨 angekündigt. Zu meiner Freude durfte ich vorher schon in dieses Kleinod reinhören, um euch darüber zu berichten.

𝙎𝙞𝙡𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙨

𝙎𝙞𝙡𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙨 enthält vier neue Songs, drei Live-Aufnahmen und eine alte Demo-Version von „Fall In Love“, die neu aufgenommen wurde. Die erste Single war „Somewhere Somehow“, die einmal mehr beweist, wie mühelos sie gefühlvolle Arrangements zaubern können.

𝐕𝐈𝐎𝐋𝐄𝐓 fallen nicht mit der Tür ins Haus, sondern klopfen höflich an. Und mit dem zauberhaften Sound sind sie natürlich herzlich willkommen.

Nachdem der sanften Einladung mit Opener „Set Me Free“, legt „Dangerous You“ mit einem helleren, beschwingteren Groove richtig los. Das klingt zuckersüß! Und wer nascht denn nicht mal gerne? Das ist definitiv auch was für die Tanzfläche. Bleibt noch „Calling For You“ als letzter neuer Song übrig. Eine schmachtende gefühlvolle Ballade, die im Chorus ein wenig aufdreht. Mit dem Einsatz von Streichern haben 𝐕𝐈𝐎𝐋𝐄𝐓 eine zusätzliche emotionale Schicht aufgetragen.

Die Live-Performance der Band wurde bei den Songs „Arms Around“, „Sex In Harmony“ und „Blame It On The Night“ hervorragend eingefangen und verdeutlicht die super Live-Qualitäten der Band. Mit „Blame It On The Night“ zeigen 𝐕𝐈𝐎𝐋𝐄𝐓, dass sie auch Songs beherrschen, die mehr Energie versprühen und ne flotte Sohle auf’s Parkett legen. So ein wenig mehr Rock ’n‘ Roll eben.

„Fall In Love“ rundet die EP am Ende ab und es ist durchaus interessant, wie Songs sich noch wandeln können, bevor sie auf einem Album landen. In der endgültigen Version heißt der Song nämlich „I Don’t Want To Fall In Love“ und ist auf dem Album Mysteria gelandet. „Fall In Love“ ist aber in doppelter Hinsicht interessant, denn hier ist es nur Gitarrist Manuel, der den Job am Mikro übernimmt. In der finalen Version sind dann tatsächlich noch einige Details dazugekommen und es ist ein gesangliches Duett geworden.

Fazit

Die EP 𝙎𝙞𝙡𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙨 von 𝐕𝐈𝐎𝐋𝐄𝐓 ist so randvoll gepackt, dass die Spielzeit bei vielen Bands locker für einen Longplayer reichen würde. Die vier neuen Songs sind wieder rundum gelungen und sorgen zu 100% für geiles 80’er AOR-Rock Feeling. Die Live-Versionen sind ein starker Bonus und zeigen die Qualität der Band auf der Bühne. „Fall In Love“ ist zudem noch eine weitere interessante Dreingabe, die diese EP gelungen abrundet. Freude und Begeisterung für diese tolle Band!

And they pull it off with style. Since then, they’ve been shaping and fine‑tuning their sound, pushing it closer and closer to that unmistakable retro magic.

A year ago, they released their album 𝙈𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙖 through Metalapolis Records, and I had an absolute blast listening to it and reviewing it. The record even climbed to number 13 on the official German Rock/Metal charts. A seriously impressive achievement.

𝐕𝐈𝐎𝐋𝐄𝐓 have an incredible instinct for the true spirit of the ’80s. It’s not just their talent for crafting killer hooks and lush harmonies — their whole visual aesthetic amplifies that authentic retro vibe. The moment they step on stage, it feels like you’re being pulled straight into a musical time machine.

Diligent and ambitious as ever, 𝐕𝐈𝐎𝐋𝐄𝐓 have announced their new EP 𝙎𝙞𝙡𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙨 for the end of February. To my delight, I was able to dive into this little gem ahead of time so I could share my impressions with you.

𝙎𝙞𝙡𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙨 features four brand‑new tracks, three live recordings, and a newly re‑recorded demo version of “Fall In Love.” The first single was “Somewhere Somehow“, once again proving how effortlessly they can conjure up soulful arrangements

After the opener “Set Me Free” eases you in with a gentle start, “Dangerous You” kicks things up with a brighter, more upbeat groove. It’s sweet as candy — and honestly, who doesn’t like a little candy now and then. Also this one is definitely made for the dancefloor.

That leaves “Calling For You” as the final new track. A yearning, emotional ballad that opens up a bit more in the chorus. With the addition of strings, 𝐕𝐈𝐎𝐋𝐄𝐓 have layered on an extra dose of heartfelt drama.

The band’s live energy is captured beautifully in the performances of “Arms Around“, “Sex In Harmony“, and “Blame It On The Night„, making their strong on‑stage qualities unmistakable. With “Blame It On The Night,” 𝐕𝐈𝐎𝐋𝐄𝐓 show they can also deliver tracks bursting with more energy — the kind that gets a real groove going on the dancefloor. A little more rock ’n’ roll!

“Fall In Love” closes the EP, and it’s genuinely fascinating to hear how a song can evolve before it finally lands on an album. In its finished form, the track is titled “I Don’t Want To Fall In Love” and appears on 𝙈𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙖. But “Fall In Love” is interesting in more than one way: here, it’s guitarist Manuel who takes over the vocals entirely. In the final album version, several new details were added — and the song ultimately became a full vocal duet.

Conclusion

𝐕𝐈𝐎𝐋𝐄𝐓’s EP 𝙎𝙞𝙡𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙨 is packed to the brim. The kind of runtime many bands would easily stretch into a full‑length album. The four new tracks are once again spot‑on, delivering a full dose of glorious 80s AOR rock vibes. The live recordings are a strong bonus, showcasing the band’s great on‑stage quality. And “Fall In Love” adds yet another intriguing layer, rounding off the EP in style. Pure joy and excitement for this fantastic band.
