In allen Belangen fantastisch!

𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐍𝐔𝐌 𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐒 are celebrating their 20th anniversary next year—now that’s quite a milestone! The power metal band has crafted six studio albums so far, and with 𝘽𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚, their seventh full-length album will be presented today.
Beyond Spacetime features a stellar lineup of guest vocalists. Alongside current singer Mayo Petranin, who has just returned to the band, and his predecessor Jota Fortinho, top-tier names such as Tim „Ripper“ Owens (ex-JUDAS PRIEST), Matt Smith (THEOCRACY), Ralf Scheepers (PRIMAL FEAR), Johnny Gioeli (HARDLINE, AXEL RUDI PELL), Tasos Lazaris (STEEL ARCTUS, WHITE WIZZARD), and David Åkesson (SYMPHONITY, QUANTIQA) are all on board. On top of that, guitar virtuoso Victor Smolski (ALMANAC, ex-RAGE) contributed a guitar solo to the lead single „Throne Of Gold.“
Beyond Spacetime
There are various ways to open an album. 𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐍𝐔𝐌 𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐒 decided to completely blow listeners away with maximum power. „Time To Pay“ makes a real catapult launch and escalates to a point that leaves your hair standing on end. A classic high-speed rocket you simply can’t go wrong with—and one with which the band makes an unmistakable statement right off the bat.
𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐍𝐔𝐌 𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐒 have already released several singles in advance that impressively show what high-quality, classic power metal should sound like. The opener was „Throne Of Gold“—a track that certainly doesn’t skimp on epic artistry and right from the start treats you to a real bass delight. The excellent riffing meets beautiful vocal lines, which is a hallmark trademark of the band anyway. As a glowing highlight, the expectedly magnificent solo by Victor Smolski puts the crown on the track.
When you embark on this journey with 𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐍𝐔𝐌 𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐒, you are rewarded with wonderful impressions that leave no room for boredom. The songs are meticulously crafted, packed with fine details, and designed to offer the listener a variety of facets. Thus, you aren’t just met with epic battles where things crash and explode, but also with passages meant for pure enjoyment.
One track to truly enjoy, for example, is the emotional ballad „Midnight Train“—intentionally kept simple and without any unnecessary fuss. The main spotlight here clearly belongs to the vocals. It’s one of those ballads that gives me genuine goosebumps because the performance is simply wonderful. „Waterfall“, which follows later toward the end of the album, doesn’t quite measure up to it in my opinion.
The sequence of the songs is often crucial to the listening enjoyment of an album. On 𝘽𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚, this has turned out exceptionally well. Everything flows together seamlessly, leaving no room for either confusion or boredom.
„Back To Zero“ kicks off directly with a short guitar solo, making for an immediate, rock-infused opening. Once again, the prominent, rich-sounding bass catches the ear in a very positive way. Overall, a highly melodic affair. The track carries more of a rock vibe throughout, yet still packs a noticeably energetic punch. The song features vocals by Tasos Lazaris, who proves himself once more to be a powerhouse singer.
The band comments:
„Back to Zero“ is a hard-rocking song about standing up after you’ve fallen to your knees – about coming back from a difficult situation stronger than ever. The lead singer on this one is Tasos Lazaris. After he finished recording it, I knew this guy was pure gold. Amazing performance on a great song written by our old friend and former Signum Regis drummer Luděk Struhař, with lyrics by Tommy König. (source: YouTube video description „Back To Zero“)
There are quite a few gems on 𝘽𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 that showcase great creativity and brilliance. „Demon Lord“ definitely ranks among the absolute highlights. The track reveals a highly interesting structure: A fiery beginning with breathtakingly fast guitar notes is suddenly followed by a tempo change where a fat bass groove pumps through, topped with furious, rock-laden guitar work. What a magnificent kickoff, perfected by the brilliant vocals! The woven-in, melodically soaring passages create an interplay that gives the song its very special character. Fantastic in every single aspect!
But 𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐍𝐔𝐌 𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐒 shine just as brightly when the concept is kept a bit simpler. The outstanding anthem „Echoes Of Glory“ serves as a perfect example: With its classic structure, it feels tailor-made for singing along at the top of your lungs and flooding any metalhead’s heart with pure joy. Despite the more accessible structure, the band leaves no room for technical flaws and turns a song like this into an absolute delight.
For me, the outstanding quality of a record can often be measured by how long it takes me to get through the first full play-through. When individual tracks blow me away so much that I immediately have to play them several times in a row, it’s an unmistakable sign.
That exact description applies to the title track „Beyond Spacetime“: A textbook example of melodic, fast-paced metal where the rapid guitar leads just fly by while the vocals go all out. A track that simply leaves nothing to be desired—in short: a total firework display!
Conclusion
With 𝘽𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚, 𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐍𝐔𝐌 𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐒 deliver a consistently strong and brilliantly structured album. The band finds the perfect balance between high-speed rockets, epic hymns, and soulful passages. 𝘽𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 seems tailor-made to take any metalhead’s heart by storm and flood it with pure joy. Whether it’s outstanding guitar solos, the prominent bass, or top-class vocal performances—the attention to detail is noticeable in every single track. Anyone into high-caliber, traditional power metal with epic richness simply cannot pass this record by. 𝘽𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 is a magnificent album with which 𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐍𝐔𝐌 𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐒 have outdone themselves and created a true monument.
