Genre: Heavy Metal/Power Metal
Release: 25.09.2026
Label: Escape Music

Dann folgte die Ballade „Edge Of The Universe“.

Single „Unite“

𝐈𝐍𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐀 was formed in Vaasa, Finland, in 2024. Their EP The Enemy Within, released last year, already garnered international media attention, leading to reviews and interviews with publications such as Sweden Rock Magazine and Kaoszine. Unfortunately, The Enemy Within had slipped under my radar, though I have since listened to the three tracks it contains.
From the very first notes, it is clear that experienced musicians are at work here. The band’s musical agenda focuses on classic heavy metal with a modern assault. The songs are delivered with top-tier musicianship and excellent production quality. 𝐈𝐍𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐀 proves that you don’t always have to reinvent the wheel to captivate an audience.

Now, the Finnish band 𝐈𝐍𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐀 is taking the next big step by releasing their debut full-length album, 𝙀𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙖𝙨𝙩, via Escape Music on September 25th. The lead single „Unite“ is every bit as good as the high-quality tracks on their EP.
„Unite“ delivers everything one could ask for: thunderous driving drums, crushing riffs, a stellar guitar solo, and a magnificent vocal performance. From the very first listen, the song had its hooks in me and simply wouldn’t let go. In fact, I was so captivated that I played it on repeat several times before moving on to the rest of the album.
𝐈𝐍𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐀 get off to a strong start with „Unite“. Rather than losing momentum afterwards, they raise the bar even higher with „Tonight We Ride“. Here, the band demonstrates that they can effortlessly maintain their high standards over longer running times without a hint of filler. While the song remains highly energetic and fast-paced throughout, cleverly placed variations provide enough diversity to keep monotony at bay. Particularly noteworthy is the role of the bass, which refuses to stay in the background and instead adds extra depth, space, and fullness to the overall sound.
A majestic mid-tempo anthem never fails to hit the mark, and 𝐈𝐍𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐀 have delivered exactly that with the title track „Echoes From The Past.“ When the lead guitar cheekily pushes its way to the forefront around the 1:30 mark, it is these subtle touches that elevate the song and make it feel even more vibrant. What follows is an outstanding guitar solo that showcases the band’s melodic strengths in spectacular fashion.
Words like „epic“ and „fantastic“ are more than justified in this case. The bass delivers a rich and powerful backbone, adding weight and depth to the overall sound. To top it all off, a tastefully employed organ passage introduces yet another fascinating dimension, further amplifying the track’s already impressive atmosphere.
𝐈𝐍𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐀 continue their impressive run with „Darkness In Us All“. The track excels not only through its outstanding musicianship and technical finesse, but also thanks to its sharp songwriting instincts. Perhaps most importantly, the album still shows no signs of running out of ideas, with every song bringing something fresh to the table and avoiding even the slightest hint of repetition.
𝐈𝐍𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐀 keep the momentum going and continue to build anticipation with „Awakening“ and „Call Of The Wild“. While „Awakening“ serves as a captivating introduction, its gentle acoustic guitars lay out a soft carpet that guides the listener forward. At the end of that path a gate swings open and „Call Of The Wild“ bursts into life. From there, the journey takes a harder and more demanding route, yet it is filled with creative twists and turns that make the song feel grander and more powerful with every passing minute.
Up to this point, I had been searching in vain for a single filler track. Then comes the ballad „Edge Of The Universe“. Ballads and I have always had a complicated relationship, and seeing a running time of six minutes certainly didn’t ease my concerns. I found myself wondering whether I was about to drift off and instinctively reach for the skip button. Yet none of that happened.
Instead, „Edge Of The Universe“ seamlessly joins the ranks of the album’s outstanding tracks. What begins as an energetic yet deeply emotional power ballad gradually unfolds into a captivating journey filled with tension and atmosphere. Once again, I have to tip my hat to 𝐈𝐍𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐀 for the remarkable confidence and craftsmanship with which they build their compositions.
What begins as an energetic yet deeply emotional power ballad gradually evolves into something truly remarkable, and once again I can only tip my hat to 𝐈𝐍𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐀 for the masterful way they build the song. By the time it reaches its conclusion, I find myself hopelessly in love with this band. Epic, powerful, melodic, and genuinely moving, the track delivers pure listening pleasure until...
…it suddenly shifts gears during its final two minutes and breaks into a spirited gallop. What makes this transition so impressive is how natural and effortless it feels. Nothing about it comes across as forced. The guitars initially weave beautiful melodic lines before finally unleashing their full firepower once again. An absolutely gigantic song!
Up to this point, 𝙀𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙖𝙨𝙩 had been a fantastic journey. However, among the remaining four tracks are two power ballads, „Time Flies“ and „A Wayfarer’s Toast“, which didn’t quite captivate me to the same extent as the rest of the album. Don’t get me wrong, both songs are still well-crafted compositions and executed with great skill. Compared to the other tracks, though, they lack some of the dynamic shifts and surprising moments that have made the album such an exceptional listening experience so far.
With „Zeal“, 𝐈𝐍𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐀 unleash another musical storm that completely sweeps me off my feet. Thunder crashes, lightning strikes, and energy erupts from every direction as the band channels its immense power with relentless intensity.
„After The Final War“ then brings the album to a triumphant close, guiding 𝙀𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙖𝙨𝙩 toward a thoroughly exhilarating finale. One last time, the guitars are given free rein to showcase both their melodic finesse and untamed ferocity before the record concludes on a near-ecstatic final note.
Conclusion
With 𝙀𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙖𝙨𝙩, 𝐈𝐍𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐀 have crafted a power metal album of the highest caliber. Blending outstanding musicianship with a keen instinct for memorable songwriting, the band manages to keep the listener fully engaged from start to finish. What makes the album particularly impressive is its ability to remain consistently fresh and exciting. Even while staying true to its core sound, each track introduces new twists, ideas, and atmospheric nuances that prevent any sense of repetition from setting in.
The only slight blemishes, at least for me, are the two power ballads „Time Flies“ and „A Wayfarer’s Toast“, neither of which quite reaches the exceptional standard set by the rest of the album. That said, even these tracks reveal no real weaknesses and remain strong additions in their own right.
In the end, 𝙀𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙖𝙨𝙩 stands as a captivating journey full of soaring melodies, epic arrangements, and unforgettable performances. 𝐈𝐍𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐀 have delivered one of the most impressive power metal albums of the year, combining technical excellence with outstanding songwriting and an abundance of passion. A mandatory addition to every power metal fan’s collection.
