𝐑𝐔𝐘𝐍𝐎𝐑 geben sich die Ehre im Hause von Metalapolis Records ihr neues Album rauszuknallen. Das letzte Album Here We Go aus dem Jahr 2021 liegt eine lange Zeit zurück, so dass ich schon dachte die Band hätte ihre Tätigkeiten eingestellt. Nun, offensichtlich ist das Gegenteil der Fall. Ich habe folgende Erinnerung an die Musik von 𝐑𝐔𝐘𝐍𝐎𝐑: Old school in die Fresse mit viel Punk im Blut.

𝙈𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙏𝙤 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙪𝙣𝙠 heißt nun das neue Album, welches am 25. September erscheinen wird. Die Single „10 Years“ gab einen ersten Vorgeschmack auf das neue Album. Und es hat sich einiges getan. Hatte der Sound beim letzten Album noch einen gewissen Garage-Rock-Charme, was aber meiner Meinung nach gut zu den Songs passte, so ist man beim neuen Sound anders unterwegs.

Dies hatte die Hymne „10 Years“ mit seiner Erinnerungsthematik bereits angedeutet. Die rohe Punk-Note tritt ein wenig zurück und macht Platz für einen straffen Heavy Metal Sound, der in seiner ganzen Präsentation druckvoller klingt.

Herausgekommen ist eine tolle kraftvolle Hymne, die mit satten Riffs und strammen Beat gut zupackt. Gesanglich gibt man sich bei „10 Years“ harmonischer mit schönen Melodien. Dies passt aber hervorragend zu so einer Hymne, die so wirklich wunderbar im Ohr hängenbleibt und wo man direkt noch mal die Repeat-Taste drückt.

Der Albumtitel 𝙈𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙏𝙤 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙪𝙣𝙠 verspricht energiegeladene Musik ohne Kompromisse. Da sollte so ein Opener schon mal galant die Tür eintreten, um direkt für die richtige Stimmung zu sorgen. „Bring Bakk The Balls To Punk“ ist ne richtige Dampframme und super dafür geeignet die Tür aus dem Rahmen zu bröseln. Der Song gibt einfach Vollgas und zieht stumpf sein Ding durch. Die Message ist simpel und der Song ebenso. Aber das macht nix, denn so prügelt der Song sich sofort in die Köppe und dürfte live eine starker Stimmungszünder sein.

𝐑𝐔𝐘𝐍𝐎𝐑 schleudern auf dem Album unkomplizierte Songs in die Ohren der Fans , die sofort und unmissverständlich ihre Message klar machen sollen. „Stumpf ist Trumpf!“ könnte man sagen. Und dies funktioniert größtenteils sehr gut. „Your Threats Don’t Sway Me“ knallt zwar gut rein, ist aber schon sehr monoton gestrickt. Ich finde allerdings, dass ein zweiter Gitarrist den Sound noch bereichern würde. Als Fan von Gitarrensolos könnte ich mir hier und da schon gut vorstellen, dass diese manchen Songs noch mehr Feuer unterm Arsch machen würden, so z.B. bei der ungestümen Speed Granate „Metal Punk Commando“.

Doch die Songs auf 𝙈𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙏𝙤 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙪𝙣𝙠 funktionieren auch so und verfehlen ihre Wirkung nicht. Das Album ist schon ne wilde Sause und es gelingt ein wenig Abwechslung im musikalischen Konzept einfließen zu lassen, wobei „Nightmare (Horrific Scenes Of Days Past)“ wohl der ungewöhnlichste Song auf dem Album ist, der ein wenig aus der Reihe tanzt, weil er von seiner Art nicht so fetzt, sondern eher in Richtung Dark Rock geht. Dazu passt natürlich auch der Gastauftritt von Michelle Darkness von der Band END OF GREEN, der hier für die charismatischen dunklen Vibes zuständig ist. Für mich ein besonderes Juwel auf dem Album.

Ansonsten bekommt man bei 𝐑𝐔𝐘𝐍𝐎𝐑 manchmal weniger Metal, dafür mehr rockigen Punk eingeschenkt. Das schöne melodische „Date Of Death“ oder auch „Twisted Daze – Hellfire Nites“ entzünden direkt gute Laune bei mir. Dies sind, die mich auf geheimnisvolle Weise immer irgendwie durstig machen. Und wenn man dann schön einen sitzen hat, dann kann man bei „Misanthropic Tendencies“ super zusammen Arm in Arm schunkeln.

Und wenn dann so eine Rock ’n‘ Roll Rakete wie „Hail Rock’N’Roll“ reingeflogen kommt, gibt es keine Halten mehr und es fliegen die Haare und die Fetzen. Gilt genauso für „Into The Mosh“, der zwar mehr Metal einatmet, aber genauso viel Zündstoff bietet.

Fazit

𝐑𝐔𝐘𝐍𝐎𝐑 lassen auf ihrem neuen Album 𝙈𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙏𝙤 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙪𝙣𝙠 die Fetzen fliegen. Dabei wird keine technisch komplizierte Kampfkunst geboten, sondern es ist rüder Straßenkampf angesagt: kein Rumgehampel, sondern kraftvoll nach vorne. Eben simpel, aber effektiv. Und damit haben 𝐑𝐔𝐘𝐍𝐎𝐑 ihr Ziel erreicht. 𝙈𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙏𝙤 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙪𝙣𝙠 ist ein kurzweiliges, energiegeladenes Album, was voll Bock macht.

𝐑𝐔𝐘𝐍𝐎𝐑 have the honor of unleashing their new album via Metalapolis Records. Their previous album–Here We Go (2021)– feels like a long time ago. So I actually thought the band had called it quits. Well, clearly the opposite is true. My recollection of 𝐑𝐔𝐘𝐍𝐎𝐑’s music is this: in-your-face, old-school intensity with punk running through its veins.

The new album, set for release on September 25th, is titled 𝙈𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙏𝙤 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙪𝙣𝙠. The single „10 Years“ offered a first taste of the new record…and things have certainly changed. While the previous album’s sound possessed a gritty garage-rock charm—which, in my opinion, suited the songs well—the new sound takes a different direction.

The anthem „10 Years“, with its theme of reminiscence, had already hinted at this different sound. The raw, gritty punk edge recedes slightly, making way for a tight heavy metal sound that feels more powerful in its overall presentation.

The result is a great, powerful anthem that packs a punch with rich riffs and a tight beat. Vocally, „10 Years“ takes a more harmonious approach, featuring lovely melodies. This works perfectly for an anthem like this, one that’s incredibly catchy and makes you want to hit the repeat button.

The album title 𝙈𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙏𝙤 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙪𝙣𝙠 promises high-energy, uncompromising music. Naturally, the opening track needs to kick the door down in style to set the right mood immediately. „Bring Bakk The Balls To Punk“ is a real steamroller, perfect for smashing that door right off its hinges. The song goes full throttle and relentlessly batters its way to the end. Both the message and the track itself are simple, but that doesn’t matter; it hammers its way straight into your head and is sure to be a real crowd-ignition in a live setting.

On 𝙈𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙏𝙤 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙪𝙣𝙠, 𝐑𝐔𝐘𝐍𝐎𝐑 hurl straightforward songs to the listener—tracks designed to convey their message immediately and unmistakably. You could say their motto is „simple but effective“. And this works really well. While „Your Threats Don’t Sway Me“ packs a real punch, but its structure is admittedly quite monotonous. That said, I do think a second guitarist would further enrich the sound; as a fan of guitar solos, I can easily imagine them adding extra fire to certain tracks—take the ferocious speed-metal blast „Metal Punk Commando“ for instance.

Yet the songs on 𝙈𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙏𝙤 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙪𝙣𝙠 work well enough on their own and certainly hit the mark. The album is a wild ride that manages to inject some variety into the musical concept; „Nightmare (Horrific Scenes Of Days Past)“ is arguably the most unusual track—an outlier that doesn’t quite pack the same high-energy punch, leaning instead towards dark rock. Fittingly, the track features a guest appearance by Michelle Darkness of the band END OF GREEN, who brings those charismatic, dark vibes to the mix. For me, it’s a real gem on the album.

Otherwise, with 𝐑𝐔𝐘𝐍𝐎𝐑, you sometimes get less metal and more of a rock-infused punk sound. Tracks like the lovely, melodic „Date Of Death“ or „Twisted Daze – Hellfire Nites“ instantly put me in a good mood—though, for some mysterious reason, these party cracker always make me thirsty. And once you’ve had a few drinks, „Misanthropic Tendencies“ is the perfect song to sway along to, arm in arm.

And when a rock ’n‘ roll rocket like „Hail Rock’N’Roll“ comes blasting in, there’s no holding back—hair flies and things get wild. The same goes for „Into The Mosh“; while it leans more towards metal, it packs just as much explosive energy.

Conclusion

𝐑𝐔𝐘𝐍𝐎𝐑 really let things rip on their new album, 𝙈𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙏𝙤 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙪𝙣𝙠. It’s not about technically complex martial arts here; instead, it’s all about raw street fighting—no messing around, just a powerful, forward-driving attack. Simple, yet effective. And with that, 𝐑𝐔𝐘𝐍𝐎𝐑 have hit the mark. 𝙈𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙏𝙤 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙪𝙣𝙠 is an entertaining, energetic album that’s a blast to listen to.
