Die britischen Rocker 𝐓𝐘𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐏𝐀𝐍 𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐆 melden sich endlich mit einem neuen Album zurück. 𝙀𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙛𝙮𝙚𝙙 heißt die neue Scheibe, die nach einer etwas längeren Pause ihre Wiederkehr markiert. Gitarrist Robb Weir stellte selber mit Schrecken fest:

Ich bin schockiert! Die letzte Single der Tygers erschien am 21. April 2023 … Kaum zu glauben: 2023! Aber ich verrate dir etwas, das noch schockierender ist … „Electrifyed“ ist die brandneue Single der „großen Katzen“. Wenn diese nicht deinen Sicherungskasten durchglühen lässt, dann tut es gar nichts!

These words signal that the Tigers have sharpened their claws and are ready to use them to tear things apart—and Robb Weir’s bold declaration is no mere empty statement. They have already demonstrated this with the release of the title track, „Electrifyed“.

Der packende Titeltrack „Electrifyed“ ist eine astreine Metalhymne mit allem, was es braucht. Und damit stieg die Spannung, was die Tiger noch alles auf ihrem Album raushauen würden, vor allem, wenn man den Kommentar von Sänger Jack Meille berücksichtigt, in dem er den Entstehungsprozess beschreibt.

„Je härter, desto besser!“ Das war unser Mantra während des Songwritings und der Aufnahmen zu „Electrifyed“. Wir wollten die Freude daran wiederentdecken, von der gewaltigen Kraft eines harten Riffs angetrieben zu werden, ohne dabei jene melodische Note zu verlieren, die alle großartigen Songs der Tygers auszeichnet.

Also gab es im Vorfeld zwei Statements von verschiedenen Mitgliedern der Band, die mächtig auf den Putz hauten und viel versprachen. Der Begriff „härter“ ist natürlich immer relativ zu sehen, aber nach dem Genuß des Albums muss man zugeben, dass 𝐓𝐘𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐏𝐀𝐍 𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐆 sehr selbstbewusst auftrumpfen und eine beachtliche Schärfe im Sound offenbaren. Die Tiger sind hungrig und gehen auf die Jagd.

Das wird schon beim Opener „Rise Up!“ schnell klar. Kurzes Intro und dann direkt zur Sache: Geile Riffs, pumpende Drums und dann glänzt Sänger Jack Meille in einer drum- und bassbetonten Sequenz. Gitarren steigen natürlich zügig wieder ein und bringen die scharfe Schneide in den Sound.

Und im Anschluss prescht „Forevermore“ ebenfalls forsch und energisch hervor. Im flotten Tempo und mit viel Melodie flacht die Begeisterung nicht ab, zumal mittendrin ein Break für interessante Zwischentöne sorgt, bevor es wieder abgeht.

Und die TYGERS werden einfach nicht ruhiger. Sie machen weiter Druck und sprühen nur so vor Energie. So gibt es beim Song „The Powers That Be“ das erste feurige Gitarrensolo bereits nach der ersten Minute. Ich liebe es, wenn nicht alles nach Schema F abläuft. Und glaubt mir, wenn ich sage, dass das Gitarrenfeuer später beim Gitarrensolo noch einmal licherloh brennt.

Was gibt es sonst noch zu hören? Eine ganze Menge! Mit „Dark Divinity“ entfesseln TYGERS OF PAN TANG einen bemerkenswerten Song, der sich durch ein fesselndes Zusammenspiel verschiedener Elemente auszeichnet, welche die Atmosphäre enorm verdichten. Diese Qualität prägt auch Stücke wie „The Nail“, das eine düstere Aura verströmt – ein mitreißender Song, sei es in den überwiegend stampfenden Mid-Tempo-Passagen oder in den treibenden Abschnitten, die immer wieder eingestreut werden. Auch „Dark Skies“ klingt rau und kantig, während „The Fight Goes On“ einen kraftvollen melodischen Ansatz verfolgt.

Und im Finale lassen sich 𝐓𝐘𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐏𝐀𝐍 𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐆 ebenso nicht lumpen und hauen mit „Revenge Is Sweet“ noch mal einen wunderschönen Song raus, der zwischen knackiger Härte und einfühlsamer Melodie pendelt.

Fazit

Die TYGERS sind hungrig und gehen auf die Jagd! 𝐓𝐘𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐏𝐀𝐍 𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐆 ist mit 𝙀𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙛𝙮𝙚𝙙 ein wahnsinnig gutes Album gelungen. 10 abwechslungsreiche wilde Songs, die allesamt mit ihrem eigenen Charme super unterhalten. Der Gesang von Jack Meille ist erste Sahne, genauso wie die Darbietung aller anderen Bandmitglieder. Die erfahrene Band verfügt also über viele herausragende handwerkliche Prädikatsmerkmale, die man durchweg hören und bewundern kann. Dabei klingen 𝐓𝐘𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐏𝐀𝐍 𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐆 überhaupt nicht verkropft, sondern spielen locker auf. Es ist eine Freude sich dieses Album anzuhören. 𝙀𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙛𝙮𝙚𝙙 ist definitiv ein Highlight des Jahres!

British rockers 𝐓𝐘𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐏𝐀𝐍 𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐆 are finally making a comeback with a new album. Titled Electrified, the new record marks their return after a somewhat lengthy hiatus. Guitarist Robb Weir himself realized with dismay:

I’m shocked! The last Tygers single was released on April 21st 2023… Can you believe that: 2023! I’ll tell you something even more shocking… “Electrifyed”, the brand new single from the big cats, is out… If this doesn’t blow the door off your fuse box, nothing will!

As the words suggest, the tygers are ready to unsheathe their claws and tear things apart with their music. And Robb Weir’s bold announcement isn’t just empty talk; the guys are fired up—something they already demonstrated with the release of the title track „Electrifyed“.

The gripping title track „Electrifyed“ is a top-notch metal anthem that has it all. This heightened the anticipation regarding what else the Tigers would unleash on the album, especially considering vocalist Jack Meille’s comments describing the creative process.

„The heavier, the better!” that was our mantra throughout the writing and recording of “Electrifyed”. We wanted to rediscover the pleasure of being driven by the powerful force of a heavy riff without losing that melodic touch all great Tygers songs have.

In the run-up to the release, various band members made bold statements, promising a lot. The term „heavier“ is, of course, always relative, but after listening to the album, I have to admit that 𝐓𝐘𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐏𝐀𝐍 𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐆 come out swinging with great confidence, revealing a sound with a remarkable edge. The tigers are hungry and go hunting.

This becomes quickly apparent right from the opener, „Rise Up!“ A brief intro leads straight into the action: killer riffs and driving drums, followed by a moment where vocalist Jack Meille shines during a drum- and bass-heavy sequence. Naturally, the guitars soon kick back in, adding a sharp edge to the sound.

„Forevermore“ subsequently surges forward with similar boldness and energy. Thanks to the brisk tempo and strong melodic sense, the tension never flags—not even during the mid-song passage, which introduces interesting nuances before the track picks up speed again.

And the TYGERS aren’t slowing down. They keep up the pressure and are bursting with energy. For instance, the song „The Powers That Be“ delivers its first fiery guitar solo less than a minute in. I love it when things don’t just follow a standard formula. And believe me when I say that the guitar firework flare up even more intensely during the later solo.

What else is on offer? Plenty! With „Dark Divinity“, 𝐓𝐘𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐏𝐀𝐍 𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐆 unleash a remarkable track characterized by a captivating interplay of elements that immensely intensifies the atmosphere. This quality also extends to songs like „The Nail“, which is steeped in a dark aura—a stirring track, whether in its predominantly stomping mid-tempo sections or the driving passages interspersed throughout. „Dark Skies“ also sounds raw and edgy, while „The Fight Goes On“ takes a powerful, melodic approach.

The 𝐓𝐘𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐏𝐀𝐍 𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐆 don’t hold back for the finale either, delivering with „Revenge Is Sweet“ another magnificent song that strikes a balance between punchy heaviness and soulful melody.

Conclusion

The Tygers are hungry and go hunting! With 𝙀𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙛𝙮𝙚𝙙, 𝐓𝐘𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐏𝐀𝐍 𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐆 have delivered an incredibly good album. 10 varied wild songs, all of which are highly entertaining, each with its own unique charm. Jack Meille’s vocals are top-notch, as is the performance of every other band member. The seasoned group displays outstanding musicianship throughout, qualities that are evident and impressive from start to finish. Far from sounding stiff or forced, 𝐓𝐘𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐏𝐀𝐍 𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐆 play with a relaxed, effortless energy. Listening to this album is a sheer delight. 𝙀𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙛𝙮𝙚𝙙 is definitely a highlight of the year!
