𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐍𝐔𝐌 𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐒 wurde 2007 gegründet und steht für erstklassigen, melodischen Power Metal mit progressiven und symphonischen Elementen. Ihr kommendes, achtes Studioalbum 𝘽𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 erscheint am 9. Oktober bei ihrem neuen Labelpartner Fireflash Records.

Auf „Beyond Spacetime“ werden verschiedene Sänger zu hören sein. Neben dem aktuellen Sänger Mayo Petranin, der gerade zur Band zurückgekehrt ist, und seinem Nachfolger Jota Fortinho sind auch hochkarätige Namen wie Ripper Owens (ehemals JUDAS PRIEST), Matt Smith (THEOCRACY), Ralf Scheepers (PRIMAL FEAR), Johnny Gioeli (HARDLINE, AXEL RUDI PELL), Tasos Lazaris (STEEL ARCTUS, WHITE WIZZARD) und David Åkesson (SYMPHONITY, QUANTICE) mit von der Partie. Außerdem steuerte Victor Smolski (ALMANAC, ehemals RAGE) ein Gitarrensolo zur ersten Single-Veröffentlichung „Throne Of Gold“ bei.

Die Band kommentiert:

Wie die meisten unserer Fans wissen, haben wir die Arbeit am Album ‚Beyond Spacetime‘ mit einer unvollständigen Besetzung begonnen. Da wir keinen festen Sänger hatten, beschlossen wir, genauso vorzugehen wie schon 2013 bei dem Album Exodus und Gastsänger einzuladen.

Doch dann kam das Leben dazwischen und hat alles auf ganz besondere Weise für uns gefügt: Während der Aufnahmen haben wir wieder Kontakt zu zwei unserer ehemaligen Sänger aufgenommen: Mayo Petranin und Jota Fortinho. Gemeinsam haben wir beschlossen, beide wieder in der Band willkommen zu heißen. Um dieses Wiedersehen zu feiern, haben wir einen brandneuen Song aufgenommen, in dem beide gemeinsam singen. Der Titel des Songs lautet ‚Echoes of Glory‘. Diese Wiedervereinigung gilt nicht nur für diesen einen Track, sondern für die kommenden Jahre! Die Besetzung, die ihr im Video seht, ist dieselbe, die auch live auftreten wird.

So viel zum Pressetext. Nun schauen wir mal, was wir bisher von dem Album zu hören bekommen haben.

Da wäre z.B. der Titeltrack „Beyond Spacetime“, der sehr flott abgeht und erwartungsgemäß mit viel Melodie gespickt ist. Die schnellen Gitarren-Leads fliegen nur dahin. Gesanglich wird richtig rangeklotzt und man darf sich an einer erstklassigen stimmlichen Darbietung erfreuen. Alles in allem ein Track, der keine Wünsche im Bereich Power Metal offen lässt. Ein echtes Feuerwerk! Grandiose Performance.

Bei „Throne Of Gold“ lernen wir die andere Seite von 𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐍𝐔𝐌 𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐒 kennen. Hier päsentiert man sich balladesk und zurückhaltender. Aufgefallen ist mir das prägnante Bassspiel, welches hier deutlich zu hören ist. Ein klassisches Gitarrensolo darf auch nicht fehlen und wird hier formidabel umgesetzt, wobei es nicht ein Solo von der Stange ist, sondern eine besondere Ausstrahlung hat und den Song noch einmal aufwertet. Hier ein fettes Lob für Gastmusiker Victor Smolski!

Bleibt noch die neueste Single „Echoes Of Glory“. Das Tempo bleibt verhalten, aber der Ton verschärft sich wieder ein wenig. Diesen Song würde ich in die Kategorie Hymne einordnen, die sich besonders in dem epischen Chorgesang im Refrain wiederspiegelt. So haben wir bisher drei Songs mit unterschiedlicher Ausrichtung. Das verspricht einen guten Mix auf dem kommenen Album 𝘽𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚, das am 09. Oktober erscheinen wird.

Es gibt noch einige interessante Statements über das Album, die ich euch nicht vorenthalten will:

Wir sind absolut zufrieden und stolz auf dieses Album! Auch wenn die letzten drei Jahre für die Band nicht einfach waren, ist dies definitiv nicht nur ein ‚nächstes‘ Signum-Regis-Album – wir sind eine Band, die stets danach strebt, etwas Besonderes zu schaffen – für uns und für die Fans. (Gitarrist Filip Koluš, der das Album zudem gemischt und produziert hat.)

Genauso wie bei der Musik haben wir auch bei den Texten neue Wege beschritten. Auf „Beyond Spacetime“ spiegeln sie sowohl persönliche als auch universelle Erfahrungen wider. The band comments:

As most of our fans know, we began working on the album Beyond Spacetime with an incomplete lineup. Since we didn’t have a permanent singer, we decided to proceed just as we did back in 2013 with the album Exodus and invite guest vocalists.

But then life intervened and arranged everything for us in a very special way: During the recordings, we got back in touch with two of our former singers — Mayo Petranin and Jota Fortinho. Together, we decided to welcome both of them back into the band. To celebrate this reunion, we recorded a brand‑new song in which both of them sing together. The title of the track is “Echoes of Glory.” This reunion isn’t just for this one song — it’s for the years to come! The lineup you see in the video is the same one that will also perform live.

So much for the press release. Now let’s take a look at what we’ve been able to hear from the album so far.

One example is the title track “Beyond Spacetime“, which comes out of the gate at high speed and, as expected, is packed with melody. The fast guitar leads just fly by. Vocally, they really go all in, and you’re treated to a first‑class vocal performance. All in all, it’s a track that leaves nothing to be desired in the realm of power metal. A magnificent performance.

With “Throne Of Gold” we get to know the other side of 𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐍𝐔𝐌 𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐒. Here, the band presents itself in a ballad‑like and more restrained manner. What immediately stood out to me was the distinctive bass playing, which is clearly audible in this track. A classic guitar solo is, of course, a must — and here it’s executed superbly. It’s not a run‑of‑the‑mill solo, but one with a special aura that elevates the song even further. A big shout‑out to guest musician Victor Smolski!

That leaves the newest single “Echoes Of Glory“.The tempo remains restrained, but the tone sharpens again a bit. I would classify this song as an anthem, something that especially comes through in the epic choral vocals in the chorus. So far, we have three songs with different orientations. This promises a strong mix on the upcoming album 𝘽𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚, which will be released on October 9.

There are still some interesting statements about the album that I don’t want to withhold from you:

We are absolutely satisfied with and proud of this album! Even though the past three years haven’t been easy for the band, this is definitely not just “another” Signum‑Regis album — we are a band that always strives to create something special, both for ourselves and for the fans. (Guitarist Filip Koluš, who also mixed and produced the album.)

Just as with the music, we have also taken new paths with the lyrics. On “Beyond Spacetime” they reflect both personal and universal experiences. You will certainly find some of the boldest, most introspective lyrics ever to appear on our albums. (Tommy König, who wrote parts of the lyrics.)
