HELLEVATE ist eine Thrash-Metal-Band aus Kansas City, MO, die für ihre einzigartige Mischung aus melodischem Thrash, Extreme Metal und Power-Metal-Einflüssen bekannt ist. Ende der 2000er-Jahre von Gitarrist Dan Whitmer gegründet, verfolgen HELLEVATE konsequent das Ziel, unvergessliche Musik zu schreiben, die mit voller Wucht einschlägt und einen bleibenden Eindruck hinterlässt.

Seit ihrem Debüt im Jahr 2012 haben sich HELLEVATE einen Ruf für elektrisierende Live-Auftritte erarbeitet und dabei die Bühne mit einigen der größten Namen des Metal geteilt – darunter EXODUS, KREATOR, ACCEPT, OVERKILL, DESTRUCTION, HAMMERFALL, UNLEASH THE ARCHERS, GHOUL,VENOM INC. und DANZIG, um nur einige zu nennen.

Und von diesem Album gibt es direkt den Titeltrack auf die Ohren, der in klassischer Manier mit hohem Tempo seine Message in die Köpfe reinprügelt. Die Band steht dabei unter Starkstrom und überzeugt mit einer energiegeladenen Performance mit einer verrückten Ader, die sich im Verlauf sogar noch steigert. Geiles Solo gibt es noch on top. „Killicon Valley“ zündet jedenfalls voll durch und macht richtig Bock!

Die Message hinter dem Song beschreibt Gitarrist Joshua Cole folgendermaßen:

Dieser Song ist das Ergebnis jahrelanger Beobachtung der KI-Entwicklung und gegenseitiger Diskussionen darüber. Viele Lieder über KI meinen es zwar gut, aber sie besingen sie immer so, als wäre es Skynet oder SHODAN; ein unaufhaltsamer Roboterherrscher, der die Apokalypse bringen wird.

Und dann benutzt man es tatsächlich – und es erweist sich als mieses Produktivitätstool, das lediglich dazu beiträgt, noch mehr Lärm und Bullshit zu erzeugen, durch den wir uns alle mühsam hindurchwühlen müssen; und das alles nur, weil ein paar idiotische Milliardäre beschlossen haben, dass ihnen die Vorstellung eines Computers gefällt, der ihnen das ganze Denken abnimmt und diese lästigen Angestellten ersetzt. Die Texte passen perfekt zur Musik! Denn diese ist fies, aggressiv, schonungslos und schnell! Wenn ihr euren Thrash Metal am liebsten wütend und mit Warp-Geschwindigkeit serviert bekommt, dann seid ihr hier genau richtig!

Guitarist Joshua Cole describes the message behind the song as follows:

This song is the result of several years of us watching the development of AI and ranting about it with each other. So many songs out there about AI have their hearts in the right place, but they always sing about it like it’s Skynet or SHODAN; some unstoppable robot overlord coming to bring the apocalypse.

Then you actually use it and it’s a crappy productivity tool that only helps create more noise and BS that we all have to wade through, all because some idiot billionaires decided they liked the idea of a computer that could do all their thinking for them and replace those pesky employees. The lyrics fit the music perfectly, as it’s nasty, aggressive, relentless, and fast! If you like your thrash metal played pissed off and at warp speed, we’ve got you covered with this one!
