𝐓𝐔𝐍𝐆𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐍 sind eine spannende Band, welche ihren Sound stetig weiterentwickelt haben. Besonders mit ihrem letzten Album The Grand Inferno (2024) haben sie einen ganz eigenen charakteristischen Sound präsentiert. Dieser Sound lässt sich schwer beschreiben. Einerseits brechen sie mit brutaler Härter hervor, vereinigen dies aber mit hochmelodischen Elementen und anderen Gimmicks. Es klingt modern und eigenwillig, was sie aus der Masse herausstechen lässt. Mich hat diese äußerst abwechslungsreiche und zugleich spannende Reise auf The Grand Inferno fasziniert.
Nun gibt es mit „Bite My Tongue“ eine neue Single, die im gleichen Fahrwasser schwimmt. Viel Power, viel Melodie… alles in einem unterhaltsamen Wechselbad der Gefühle. Dies betrifft auch den Gesang. Melodien zum wohlfühlen und mitsingen, so wie harsche fiese Vocals zum erschauern. Man kann wohl davon ausgehen, dass 𝐓𝐔𝐍𝐆𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐍 dieses Jahr noch ein neues Album rausbringen werden. Das werdet ihr natürlich hier erfahren, sobald es neue Infos gibt.
Laut Sänger Mike Andersson beschäftigen sich die Lyrics damit, „wie Menschen ihre Meinungen zu verschiedensten Themen oft lautstark und ohne Zögern äußern, während es bei einer abweichenden Sichtweise manchmal besser ist zu schweigen, um den Frieden zu wahren, was mitunter ziemlich frustrierend sein kann.“

𝐓𝐔𝐍𝐆𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐍 are an exciting band who have continuously evolved their sound. Especially with their latest album The Grand Inferno (2024), they presented a truly distinctive sonic identity. It’s a sound that’s hard to pin down: on one hand they erupt with brutal heaviness, yet they fuse it with highly melodic elements and other stylistic twists. The result feels modern and unconventional, making them stand out from the crowd. I was fascinated by this highly varied and consistently thrilling journey on The Grand Inferno.
With “Bite My Tongue„, the band now delivers a new single that follows the same trajectory. Plenty of power, plenty of melody… all wrapped into an entertaining emotional rollercoaster. This also applies to the vocals: melodies that invite you to sing along, contrasted with harsh, sinister growls that send a chill down your spine. It’s safe to assume that 𝐓𝐔𝐍𝐆𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐍 will release a new album later this year. You’ll of course hear about it here as soon as new information becomes available.
According to vocalist Mike Andersson, the lyrics explore „how people often voice their opinions about various things loudly without hesitation, but when you hold a different view, it’s sometimes better to stay silent to keep the peace which can be quite frustrating at times.”
