FROM ASHES REBORN – Singles „Chasing Utopia“ und „In Truth Divided“

𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐁𝐎𝐑𝐍 sind eine Death-Metal-Band aus Wittlich in Rheinland Pfalz. 2017 haben sie sich zusammengefunden und schon 2018 ihr Debüt 𝙀𝙭𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙀𝙭𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙙 veröffentlicht, welches in der Presse verdammt gut aufgenommen wurde.

Auch ich kann mich den Lobeshymnen nur anschließen, denn 𝙀𝙭𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙀𝙭𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙙 ist wirklich super geworden. Es ist dermaßen ausgereift und handwerklich hervorragend gemacht, dass man es niemals als Debüt erkennen würde. Ihr Storytelling ist spannend aufgebaut und die Songs bieten progressive Züge.

Auch an Durchschlagskraft und Wildheit mangelt es 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐁𝐎𝐑𝐍 nicht. Da geht es mächtig hart zur Sache, auch wenn der Sound ebenfalls sehr melodisch ausgelegt ist und man auf atmosphärische Tiefe durchaus Wert legt. Gesanglich fährt man allerdings komplett in der harten Schiene, indem man komplett auf cleane Vocals verzichtet. Ich sehe das jedoch nicht als Nachteil und viele sehen darin sicherlich einen weiteren Pluspunkt.

Jetzt aber zu den neuen Singles „Chasing Utopia“ und „In Truth Divided“, die das kommende Album 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙐𝙩𝙤𝙥𝙞𝙖 ankündigen. Die Messlatte hat die Band selber natürlich hoch angelegt, denn nach dem tollen Debüt erwarten die Fans natürlich ein richtig intensives Erlebnis.

„Chasing Utopia“ offenbart im Beginn zunächst die melodische Komponente im Sound, doch man muss nicht allzu lange warten, bis Armageddon losbricht und sich der Song mit entfesselter Energie erhebt. Gesanglich bleibt man sich weiter treu und schmettert die Lyrics mit extremen Vocals. Hier höre ich sogar noch eine Verbesserung. Die Lyrics werden für Extreme-Vocals-Verhältnisse klar artikuliert, so dass man die Lyrics größtenteils gut verstehen und nachvollziehen kann. Handwerklich gibt’s nix zu meckern. Hier geben sich 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐁𝐎𝐑𝐍 keine Blöße und liefern in allen Bereichen zu 100 % ab.

„In Truth Divided“ ist die neueste Single. Als Einstieg gönnt man sich erst einmal ein feuriges Gitarrensolo. Ohnehin gefallen mit die Gitarren hervorragend. Wunderbar variabel und noch differenzierter als auf dem Debüt. Und ebenso hat man die atmosphärische Ebene nicht aus den Augen verloren. „In Truth Divided“ steht also der ersten Single in nichts nach und ist ein perfektes Melo-Death-Spektakel. Damit bewegen sich 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐁𝐎𝐑𝐍 völlig auf Augenhöhe mit den Größen der Szene.

Die Band erklärt zum Song folgendes:

„In Truth Divided“ erzählt vom Zerfall gemeinsamer Wirklichkeit – wenn Überzeugungen zu Mauern werden und Wahrheit zur Waffe. Der Song zeigt, wie leicht Menschen sich in Gewissheit flüchten und dabei das Verstehen verlieren.
Musikalisch aggressiv und zugleich melancholisch, schlägt er Brücken zwischen Wut und Erkenntnis. Ein Stück über Spaltung, Selbsttäuschung – und den Mut, die eigene Wahrheit trotzdem zu suchen.

Somit verkünden die Vorboten des Albums, dass uns tatsächlich ein großartiges Erlebnis bevorsteht. Und jetzt haltet euch fest! Das Album 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙐𝙩𝙤𝙥𝙞𝙖 wird ein mächtiges Opus werden, denn es gibt satte 13 Tracks, die auf eine Gesamtspielzeit von 60 Minuten kommen. Ich freue mich jedenfalls wahnsinnig auf 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙐𝙩𝙤𝙥𝙞𝙖, dessen Veröffentlichung für den 06. März geplant ist.

𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐁𝐎𝐑𝐍 are a death metal band from Germany. They got together in 2017 and released their debut album 𝙀𝙭𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙀𝙭𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙙 in 2018, which was very well received by the press.

I can only join in the praise, because 𝙀𝙭𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙀𝙭𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙙 has turned out really great. It is so mature and technically superb that you would never recognize it as a debut. Their storytelling is excitingly structured and the songs have progressive elements.

𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐁𝐎𝐑𝐍 also has no shortage of punch and ferocity. It’s pretty heavy stuff, even though the sound is also very melodic and atmospheric depth is definitely emphasized. Vocally, however, they go all out on the heavy side, completely foregoing clean vocals. I don’t see this as a disadvantage, though, and many will certainly see it as another plus point.

But now let’s move on to the new singles “Chasing Utopia” and “In Truth Divided“, which herald the upcoming album 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙐𝙩𝙤𝙥𝙞𝙖. The band has naturally set the bar high for themselves, because after their fantastic debut, fans are naturally expecting a truly intense experience.

“Chasing Utopia” initially reveals the melodic component in the sound, but you don’t have to wait too long before Armageddon breaks out and the song rises with unleashed energy. Vocally, they remain true to themselves and belt out the lyrics with extreme vocals. I even hear an improvement here. The lyrics are clearly articulated for extreme vocals, so that you can understand and follow most of them well. Technically, there’s nothing to complain about. Here, 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐁𝐎𝐑𝐍 don’t show any weaknesses in any area and deliver 100%.

“In Truth Divided” is the latest single. It kicks off with a fiery guitar solo. I love the guitars anyway. Wonderfully varied and even more nuanced than on the debut album. And they haven’t lost sight of the atmospheric level either. “In Truth Divided” is every bit as good as the first single and is a perfect melodic death metal spectacle. This puts 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐁𝐎𝐑𝐍 on a completely equal footing with the big names in the scene.

The band explains the song as follows:

“In Truth Divided” tells of the disintegration of shared reality—when convictions become walls and truth becomes a weapon. The song shows how easily people take refuge in certainty and lose understanding in the process. Musically aggressive and melancholic at the same time, it builds bridges between anger and insight. A piece about division, self-deception—and the courage to seek one’s own truth.

Thus, both precursors to the album announce that we are indeed in for a great experience. And now hold on tight! The album 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙐𝙩𝙤𝙥𝙞𝙖 is going to be a powerful opus, with a whopping 13 tracks totaling 60 minutes of playing time.
